1. Competition Structure

  • Preliminary: Schools select their representatives for each category (Except for Category IV)
  • Semi-final: Judging Panel selects top 5 entries of each category
  • Final: Judging Panel & Online Voters select winners of each category

Category I

Beginner: P.1-2

Nominated by local schools (For Registered Schools Only)

Read Aloud

Read aloud one of the selected texts taken from the following Wiseman Classics Title.

 

Category II

Intermediate: P.3-4

Nominated by local schools (For Registered Schools Only)

Interpret and Present

Select a part from one of the following Wiseman Classics Titles and interpret the part in one of the following forms:
  1. Visual Arts (captioned drawings, photos etc.)
  2. Language Arts (prose, poetry etc.)
  3. Drama
*Submit a video (maximum 5 minutes) presenting the above.*

Category III

Advanced: P.5-6

Nominated by local schools (For Registered Schools Only)

Rewrite and Present

  1. Choose one of the following Wiseman Classics Titles
  2. Rewrite the opening/ending part of the story in the form of narrative prose or poetry (600-800 words)
    • The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: Rewrite the ending of the story
    • A Christmas Carol: Rewrite the opening of the story
  3. Present your written work in a video in any form of your choice (maximum 5 minutes).
  4. Submit both the written work and the video.

Category IV

Open: Aged 6-12

Open to public (aged 6-12)*Category IV participants may join other categories, but should choose a different Wiseman Classics title to base their work on

Rewrite and Present

  1. Choose one of the following Wiseman Classics Titles
  2. Rewrite the ending part of the story in the form of narrative prose or poetry (maximum 800 words)*If you choose ‘A Christmas Carol’, please rewrite its opening instead.
  3. Present your written work in a video in any form of your choice (maximum 5 minutes).
  4. Submit both the written work and the video.
